The Kid & Hub Story

We developed the concept of Kid & Hub because we wanted our kids to have a range of unique learning experiences and activities. Frankly, we were bored of dragging them to the same activities week in, week out.

We had both recently moved back home to Adelaide after living in Melbourne for several years, and discovered we were both searching for a place we could go that offered a range of engaging, fun creative activities for our toddlers and preschool children. We wanted a place that was easy to get to and family-friendly. A place that had everything: great coffee, a play hub, and facilitated learning activities for our children.

We weren’t looking for another play café, and we weren’t looking for a child-minding service. We wanted a space where we could come with our children and help them learn, create and play in a safe space.

Since we couldn’t find this magical place, we decided to create it. Kid & Hub is the kind of place we want to take our own children on a regular basis.

It’s everything we look for in a family-friendly creative space: it works for families with multiple pre-school aged children with different interests, so a child who likes messy play can be just as happy as their sibling who prefers crafts. It’s a haven for parents accompanying their children, with a great coffee and play hub. You can find all the other conveniences on offer on our Extras page.

Our ideas continue to grow and we will introduce new activities over time. Feel free to email us with suggestions.

Giuliana Scala & Stacey Du Bois

First and foremost, we are mums: we each have two pre-school aged children, a boy and a girl.

We met while working together as teenagers and hit it off instantly, becoming the best of friends. We’ve lived, travelled, worked and embarked on motherhood together. With open hearts and minds, we live life as positively as we can. Between us, we have years of experience working in commercial property in Operations Management. Our commitment, values and work ethic, our range of skills and big ideas mean that professionally and personally we make a great team.

Motherhood has been by far the most rewarding and challenging role of our lives, requiring all our project management skills! Like all mums, we do whatever it takes on a daily basis to make sure our kids are safe, happy and loved. We understand what our own children enjoy doing and what activities we want to offer them.

Kid & Hub brings together all our experience, both professional and personal, for a fresh take on raising happy, healthy, creative children.

Millie Grant

In the past 5 years, Millie has had the pleasure of working with Children where she has provided opportunities for children to explore, discover, grow, create and imagine. Millie enjoys exploring each child’s individual interests and takes great pride in helping the children gain knowledge and growth on a daily basis. Millie has her certificate III in Children Services and is currently studying Bachelor of Social Work where she aspires to continue working with children in that field.

Millie is fun and energetic and always strives to create a safe environment for the children but an environment that is fulfilling, rewarding and encourages learning outside of their comfort zone. It is Millie’s goal at Kid & Hub to provide a safe environment for the parents to encourage their children to explore whilst always having a day that is enjoyable and fun.
